| WeldonPC.com : A Post Service Note... |

April 19, 2008
A Post Service Note The frustration of your computer being broken is something we completely understand. Our goal is to quickly and effectively repair your computer to minimize future occurrences of problems. Once receiving your computer after WeldonPC.com has serviced you will experience a few "post service" occurrences. You will need to install your internet service provider and your printing device - that is it! Things may seem different or out of place. Your screen saver and wallpaper may be different, task bar could be grey instead of blue etc. We optimize ALL computers to run at its peak performance. There is a rare occasion that you may need to bring your computer back in for minor "tweaking" within a few days but this is not very common as some
computers require more attention and can act up than other computers. Also, it is less common but possible for a computer to show additional symptoms less than 2 days AFTER having it serviced. If problems do occur you should contact our office IMMEDIATELY at 216.429.0661 or E-Mail info@weldonpc.com if possible.

What to look for in a computer service center...
Its broken and you need it repaired NOW. Price is ALWAYS the first concern but so is getting the job completed right. WeldonPC.com has certified techs with experience and knowledge that reaches far beyond "the competition".
Experience - Our techs have serviced HUNDREDS of computers in the last few months ranging from replacing a CD drive to Re-Imaging the hard drive.
Certifications - Each tech at WeldonPC.com either has a proper certification or has passed the qualification exam to join our team.
The Competition - is simply over priced and under qualified! Most of "the competitors" take 3 days all the way up to 3 months to service a computer! Some of "the competitors" require little to no certification requirements for their technicians making the repair of your computer less effective. "The competitors" often load 3rd party software onto your computer to patch up a software problem instead of properly handling the problem by removing and re-installing or re-configuring the software in the computer.

| WeldonPC.com : Dialup vs. Broadband Internet |
| Posted by weldonpc on 2007/12/4 19:13:06 (183 reads) |
Dialup Internet
Dialup internet is becoming less common than ever before. With the cost of broadband (cable internet or dsl internet) bottoming out at around $21.95 per month the time to make the change is now.
Issues with Dialup
There are NUMEROUS problems with dialup internet. One common problem is the actual Modem itself. With the advances of phone technology, fax machines, and other telecommunication devices, comes the "changing of the guard" when it comes to older technology. When trying to obtain a signal from a dialup carrier such as America Online aka AOL or Compuserve over phone lines carring 3mbps (3000 kbps) to 6mbps (6000 kbps) the "signal" can become destorted and in turn make your dialup internet not only function slower but possibly even malfunction all together. |

| WeldonPC.com : Floppy Discs, Tape Drives and other reliable media / storage... |
| Posted by weldonpc on 2007/12/3 20:23:11 (207 reads) |
Floppy Discs and Tapes
Some of the most common types of media (or storage devices) such as Floppy Discs, Tape Drives, Zip Drives (etc...) operate with magnetics and magnetic platters.
Device Reliability & Your Data
After time Magnetic devices such as floppy discs, tapes, or zip discs will begin to loose their magnetic properties. When the magnetic structure of the disc begins to weaken, the data on the devices becomes open to data corruption or total data loss. Once data corruption begins to take place, the chances for recovery is almost zero. WeldonPC.com HIGHLY recommends using other media types such as CDs or DVDs which operate on a "pit and groove" principal similar to a record or Flash Media such as a USB Jump Drive. |

| WeldonPC.com : Routine Maintenance |
| Posted by weldonpc on 2007/11/17 12:40:00 (253 reads) |
How often should my PC be serviced?
The answer depends on the Internet Service Provider.
In short, with No internet, you may never need pc service unless there is some type of part failure. With DIAL UP internet you will need to have service ONE TIME every 2-5 YEARS depending on the amount and type of usage. With BROADBAND / CABLE / DSL Internet you will need service ONE TIME every 12 - 24 MONTHS.
Why?
Regardless of the type of internet... 30 times out of 100 times you go online your computer is open for attacks that can not be stopped by any one software security system. Since running more than one security system at one time is not possible, the only cost effective and safe route is to get on a routine maintenance schedule.
What is involved with the Yearly Maintenance?
Imagine your computer being a chalkboard. You write and erase for one year without washing the board off.... By the 12 or 13th month you will not be able to make out what is written on the board. We wash the chalkboard or Hard Drive of the computer making sure to back up the writing and restore it after the "washing". |

What is Disk Defragmenter?
Windows Disk Defragmenter is a computer program included in Microsoft Windows designed to increase access speed (and sometimes increase the amount of usable space) by rearranging files stored on a disk to occupy contiguous storage locations, or defragmenting. The purpose is to optimize the time it takes to read and write files to/from the disk by minimizing head travel time and maximizing the transfer rate.
