I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to follow up on the potential internet cyber security threat that we communicated to you yesterday. I would like to apologize if we caused any alarm with our previous message.
I am pleased to inform you that after a thorough investigation, the threat has seemingly passed and is no longer a concern. Our IT security team detected issues across several internet providers, financial networks, social media networks, mobile carriers and utility providers across the Eastern United States based on reliable sources that we monitor. However, after analyzing our antivirus and system monitoring software, we have not identified any breach of your computer, network or information.
As a precautionary measure, we shut down or advised the shutdown on numerous computers around 6PM on Monday, February 6, 2023 to protect the integrity of your systems and data. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.
Please be assured that the safety and security of your computer system is a top priority, and we continuously monitor and update our security protocols to ensure the protection of our data.
At this time, it is safe to restore power and network access your computers and servers.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our office at 888-7-WELDON or 888-793-5366.
